Joker 2 Officially Confirmed

Director Todd Phillips, who was behind the first Joker back in 2019, published a picture of the script for the second part, with the working title Joker: Folie à Deux, on his Instagram.

At the same time, he added a photo with the lead actor of the Joker - Joaquin Phoenix. In the picture, Phoenix browses Phillips' screenplay (on which he worked on together with Scott Silver) with a cigarette in his mouth. 

The story of the sequel is currently unknown, and the working title of the screenplay Folie à Deux didn't tell us much. According to the National Library of Medicine, this is a mental disorder sharing syndrome. Mental illness can be "transferred" to a person who has long-term and intensive contact only with a mentally ill person and appropriates their delusions.

"Although the film does not give us clear answers as to what reality is and is not, from what we could see in the film, I conclude that it is a more severe form of psychopathy. We can't be surprised by how Arthur's character developed, as it was a consequence of what he experienced," a psychiatrist explained.
