The year 2026 on Netflix promises a hefty load of movies for everyone. We've got a rundown of the ten most anticipated flicks dropping this year.
Apex
Premiere: April 24
Sasha (Charlize Theron) is trying to escape past traumas by heading on a solo journey into the Australian wilderness. Her peace is short-lived. She soon realizes she's not alone when a serial killer, played by Taron Egerton, starts stalking her.
“You're special, Sasha,” rings out in the trailer. “I already know about you.” “Danger makes you feel alive. Perfection is the only option. But this is something else entirely,” continues the voice. “Think you can handle it? Run for your life.”
This action thriller hits screens on April 24.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
Premiere: March 20
A few years after the series finale, the Birmingham gang is back on screens in the feature film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The story picks up after the sixth season and thrusts Tommy Shelby straight into the heart of World War II.
“Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of World War II, Tommy Shelby returns from his self-imposed exile to face his most devastating reckoning yet. With the future of his family and country at stake, Tommy must confront his demons and decide whether to embrace his legacy or destroy it completely,” reads the film's synopsis.
Narnia: The Magician's Nephew
Premiere: December 2026
A new adaptation of Narnia directed by Greta Gerwig (Barbie, Little Women) should arrive on Netflix (and mainly in theaters!) this December. The film is based on the first book of the series, The Magician's Nephew, which tells of the creation of Narnia and the birth of evil. According to available information, the film will deviate in some details from the book. Photos from the set show the story unfolding in the 1950s, whereas the original tale takes place in 1900.
The official cast list hasn't been released yet, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Emma Mackey (Sex Education) will play the White Witch. Charli XCX and Margaret Qualley were originally considered for this role. Meryl Streep will take on the role of Aslan, the talking lion and king of kings in the books.
The Rip
Premiere: January 16
This crime thriller with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck dropped on Netflix on January 16, but it deserves a spot in our lineup. The duo stars as Miami tactical narcotics unit cops seeking justice for their captain's unsolved murder. Clues lead them to an abandoned warehouse where a drug cartel is hiding millions of dollars.
The film is directed by Joe Carnahan, known for Narc and Copshop. The story is inspired by real-life cop Chris Casiano, who stumbled upon a vast sum of money during a drug cartel raid.
Ray Gunn
Premiere: unspecified
Ray Gunn is a long-awaited animated film from Brad Bird, the director behind The Incredibles and Ratatouille. The project took three years to develop and boasts a budget of 150 million dollars (about 127 million euros).
The film mixes classic noir vibes with a futuristic sci-fi world, following Raymond Gunn, the last human private eye in a world where robots have taken over most jobs. His intuition draws the attention of a wealthy businessman with a mysterious challenge to solve.
Enola Holmes 3
Premiere: mid-2026
This time, Millie Bobby Brown as Sherlock Holmes' younger sister returns to Malta. Directed by Philip Barantini, known for the series Adolescent. Interestingly, Millie is not just acting but also producing the series.
Millie Bobby Brown also revealed that there would be progress in a long-awaited romantic storyline between Enola and Tewkesbury.
The third installment is expected to steer towards classic detective tales, so there's plenty to anticipate. Netflix hasn't officially confirmed the exact release date, but it's set to drop this summer.
Little Brother

John Cena plays a successful real estate agent whose carefully crafted life starts falling apart when his unpredictable younger brother, played by comedian Eric André, shows up.
Directed by Matt Spicer, known for Ingrid Goes West with Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen.

The sci-fi horror 11817, directed by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, Fast X), follows a family of four who wake up one day sealed in their own home with no way out. As supplies quickly dwindle and nerves fray, they must all work together to survive.
Starring Greta Lee, known from the series Russian Doll or the A24 movie Past Lives, and Wagner Moura (Narcos or Civil War), the filming took place starting spring 2025 and is expected on Netflix sometime in 2026, although the exact date is still TBA.
War Machine
Premiere: March 2026
The action sci-fi thriller War Machine unfolds during the final stage of selection into an elite US Ranger unit. “The elite team's training turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat,” states the synopsis.
Starring Alan Ritchson, with Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, and Esai Morales alongside him.
The Whisper Man
Premiere: mid-2026
An adaptation of the thriller based on Alex North’s bestseller follows a former detective played by Robert De Niro and his son. “When his eight-year-old son is abducted, a widowed mystery writer turns to his estranged father, a retired police detective, discovering that the case is linked to a decades-old serial killer case known as ‘The Whisper Man,’” reads the plot description of the book.
Alongside De Niro, the film features Adam Scott, Michelle Monaghan, and Michael Keaton.
Bonus: The Adventures of Cliff Booth

David Fincher is bringing a new movie project from the world of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The spin-off follows Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) and focuses on his further adventures. While Netflix hasn't confirmed a release date yet, this project is already one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
