In just under a month, you'll get a hefty dose of new stories from the world of Stranger Things. The series is coming back in animated form.
“Welcome back to the town of Hawkins! It's the winter of 1985, and our favorite crew must confront new monsters and solve a paranormal mystery.” That’s Netflix’s official tease for the new animated series set between the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the original live-action show.
Stranger Things: Tales from '85 brings most of the main characters back to the screen, alongside a few new faces who haven't appeared in the live-action format. Based on the first trailer, it seems to be a bit more action-packed, likely because animation doesn’t drain the show’s entire budget the way live-action scenes might.
The cast is also getting a refresh, specifically the voice actors for each character. The actors from the original series decided to take a well-deserved Stranger Things break after the fifth season, making way for newcomers.
This isn’t the only spin-off Netflix has planned. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously announced another series focusing more on the scientific aspects and the nature of the Upside Down and its creatures.
Meanwhile, Netflix has also revealed that later this year, the award-winning and super popular play, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, will hit streaming, delving into the past of Vecna/Henry Creel. You'll definitely have plenty of Stranger Things content to dive into.
