The studio reports that the trailer snagged 718.6 million views since its premiere on Wednesday, making it the most successful movie trailer ever.
The previous record was held by the trailer for the movie Deadpool & Wolverine from 2024, with 365 million views. The trailer for Brand New Day totally smashed that record, and it only took eight hours after it was released.
It's been five years since the last live-action Spider-Man movie came out, yet this character remains one of the most popular in Hollywood. The last installment, No Way Home, pulled in $1.9 billion during the pandemic, and experts think Brand New Day might not only match that but even beat it. The movie will feature Tom Holland and Zendaya once again. But also shining are Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk.
After Dr. Stephen Strange’s spell at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), the world forgot Peter Parker ever existed. Now, he's all grown up, living completely alone, and anonymously protecting New York after choosing to erase himself from the memories of all his friends and loved ones. The constant struggle triggers a dangerous physical evolution in Parker that he has to deal with while investigating a series of interconnected crimes.
The movie hits theaters on July 31st.
