Heidi Klum Reveals Her Superpower: Her ADHD

CELEBRITY

Heidi Klum, in an interview with Glamour Germany, shared that her hyperactivity is her superpower.

Heidi Klum has long been famous for strutting down the world's most prestigious runways and making appearances on television screens. Besides modeling, she hosts shows, raises kids, and throws her renowned annual Halloween parties. Despite her packed schedule, she manages to juggle multiple roles at once—and according to her, ADHD plays a part in that.

In an interview with German magazine Glamour Germany for the magazine's 25th anniversary, Heidi Klum openly talked about living with this attention disorder. She also mentioned that she sees it not as a hurdle but rather an advantage.

When asked to reveal something people might not know about her, she replied: “I have a form of ADHD.”

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a condition where the brain functions a bit differently than most people's. It can show up in various ways, such as difficulty focusing or staying still.

However, the model claims that this trait helps her in many ways. “I view ADHD as a positive thing because it allows me to multitask. It's my superpower.”

She says that her high energy helps her manage many projects. “Maybe it's instinct—or just my own idea. I'm very hyperactive due to my ADHD, and I can handle a thousand different things at once. I work on numerous projects at the same time and keep taking on more.”

This work pace is one of the reasons why the Project Runway star is constantly busy. She admits, however, that she doesn't mind it. In a past interview with People, she said: “I'm a workaholic, a control freak. I've been so focused on the shows I do and making sure everything that comes out of them looks good. I love what I do.”

What are the symptoms of ADHD in adults?

According to the British health service NHS, ADHD symptoms usually relate to three areas: attention span (inattention), high energy levels (hyperactivity), and impulse control (impulsivity).

     Signs of inattention might include:
  • being easily distracted or forgetful
  • issues with time management
  • difficulty following instructions or completing tasks
  • frequently losing things like wallets, phones, or keys

Hyperactivity and impulsivity might look like this:

  • having lots of energy or feeling mentally and physically restless

  • excessive talking or interrupting conversations

  • making quick decisions without thinking about the consequences

Most people with ADHD have a combination of inattention and hyperactivity symptoms, but some may have one type more prominently.
