Google Maps is rolling out a major update featuring artificial intelligence. The new Ask Maps feature lets you ask the maps questions and get personalized recommendations—like where you can charge your phone, where to go for dinner, or which places to visit during your trip.
The AI uses data about places and real user reviews, so it can recommend spots based on your preferences. It also lets you save locations or share your plan with friends.
Google is also bringing a big change to navigation with the Immersive Navigation feature. Maps will display realistic 3D environments with buildings, roads, lanes, traffic lights, or signs to help drivers get their bearings.
The navigation will show more of the route, alert you to traffic changes, alternative routes, or parking near your destination. This is the biggest navigation update on Google Maps in over a decade.
