Drama in Euphoria? Soundtrack Creator Labrinth Distances Himself from the Show and His Label

MOVIES & SERIES

Labrinth was supposed to create the music for the highly anticipated third season of the drama series Euphoria. Whether we'll actually hear his music in the series is now in question.

British musician Labrinth, who composed the music for the series Euphoria, hinted that he wants to distance himself from the project and the entire music industry. He did so in a sharply worded Instagram post that he shared late at night.

In the statement, he wrote that he’s had enough and included some explicit references to his record label, Columbia Records, with which he has a contract. He also criticized the Euphoria series itself and hinted that he’s leaving the project.

Labrinth has been creating the musical score for the series since its first season. For the track “All for Us”, he won an Emmy Award for Best Original Music and Lyrics. Earlier this week, he appeared at Balenciaga’s winter fashion show in Paris, where the series creator Sam Levinson presented a brief teaser from the highly anticipated third season.

Last year, HBO announced that Labrinth would return to create music for the third season along with composer Hans Zimmer. The continuation of the series “Euphoria” is set to premiere on April 12th. The eight-episode series will include a time jump in the storyline, pushing the characters into the future and aiming to wrap up the entire plot.
