Actress Kate Winslet, who you might remember as Rose from Titanic, is set to appear in a new Lord of the Rings movie hitting theaters by the end of next year.
The British actress Kate Winslet, who’s an Oscar winner, is joining the upcoming film from the world of The Lord of the Rings called The Hunt for Gollum. The movie is directed by Andy Serkis, and according to Deadline, she's set to play the lead female role. However, we don’t have more details about her character yet, as reported by Deadline.
Filming is set to kick off in May in New Zealand, where Kate will be spending several months. They expect to wrap her scenes by October.
Fans can also look forward to the return of actors you definitely remember from previous films. This new project in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe is bringing back several familiar faces from the original trilogy.
Names like Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and Andy Serkis as Gollum are returning, reprising roles they’ve been associated with since 2001.
The story follows Aragorn's quest to find Gollum. In the plot, he’s trying to catch this creature before it reveals to the dark lord Sauron where the ring is located. The film is hitting theaters on December 15, 2027.
