A new limited series on the turbulent relationship and tragic end of John F. Kennedy Jr. and fashion icon Carolyn Bessette is rewriting viewership records on streaming platforms.
If you thought the fascination with the Kennedy clan had faded, the numbers will quickly prove otherwise. The latest TV project from the notoriously famous hitmaker Ryan Murphy, aptly titled Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, is smashing records, according to Yahoo.
The series dives into their meeting, relationship, paparazzi pressures, their secret wedding on Cumberland Island, and the challenges leading up to the fatal plane crash. The show heavily features the 90s New York aesthetic, plus fashion and the unique simplicity of Calvin Klein, where Carolyn worked as a publicist.
As Murphy proudly announced on his Instagram, the first five episodes alone generated an astonishing 25 million streaming hours.

This viewer frenzy ramped up just before the premiere of the most anticipated episode Wedding Day, which dropped on March 5. According to an analysis by The Hollywood Reporter, the bulk of this massive audience comes from Hulu and Disney+ platforms.
Hollywood Drama Behind the Scenes
Every story has two sides, and while TV execs are popping champagne, some real-life people involved in this tale are fuming. The loudest voice belongs to Hollywood star Daryl Hannah, who dated Kennedy Jr. for five long years.
In a sharp op-ed for The New York Times, she called the project a television series that preys on tragedy and spared no criticism for the creators. Among other things, she claims the decision to portray her as an annoying, self-absorbed, whiny, and inappropriately behaving person was no accident but a calculated move to ramp up the drama.
