Bruce Campbell announced that he has cancer.

He shared his diagnosis on his social media profile on X. According to him, it's a type of cancer that's treatable but can't be entirely eliminated. “My plan is to get it treated as best as possible over the summer and head out in the fall to promote my new movie Ernie & Emma,” he told his fans.

“This year, I have to cancel some summer events. I'm really sorry about that. Treatment needs and work duties don’t always go hand in hand,” he further stated. “That's about it. I don’t want to seek sympathy or advice, just pre-empting any false info (which will likely pop up). Don't worry, I'm a tough old b*stard and have amazing support, so I plan to stick around for a while.”

Beyond his main role in The Evil Dead series, his buddy director Sam Raimi loves to cast him in cameo roles in his movies. He appeared in all of the Spider-Man trilogy films with Tobey Maguire as the announcer who introduces Peter Parker in an illegal wrestling match as “The Human Spider,” the usher who doesn’t let Peter into the MJ show, and the maître d’ in the restaurant where he plans to propose to MJ.
