Apple has just unveiled the iPhone 17e - a more budget-friendly model in the iPhone 17 series featuring the A19 chip, a 48MP camera, a more durable design with Ceramic Shield 2, MagSafe support, and basic storage of 256GB.
Today, Apple introduced the iPhone 17e, a more affordable model in the iPhone 17 series. It offers high performance, an advanced camera, a more durable build, MagSafe support, and base storage up to 256 GB.
The device is powered by the new A19 chip built with 3-nanometer technology. It features a 6-core CPU (up to 2× faster than the iPhone 11), a 4-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine optimized for large generative Apple Intelligence models. The new C1X modem is up to twice as fast as the C1 in the iPhone 16e and 30 percent more energy-efficient than the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro, contributing to all-day battery life.
Sleek Design and Enhanced Durability
The iPhone 17e sports a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with peak HDR brightness up to 1,200 nits, ensuring great readability even in direct sunlight. Protection is provided by Ceramic Shield 2 with 3× better scratch resistance and improved glare reduction.
The aerospace aluminum body meets IP68 standards (water and dust resistance up to 6 m for 30 minutes). It comes equipped with Face ID for secure unlocking and an action button for quick access to favorite features. The model is available in black, white, and a new soft pink with a matte finish.
Advanced Camera and 4K Video
The 48 MP Fusion camera with 2× optical-quality zoom acts like two lenses in one. It allows shooting in full 48 MP resolution or a preset 24 MP mode, offering the ideal balance of quality and file size.
Next-gen portraits let you change the focus even after taking a shot. The phone automatically detects people, dogs, and cats and saves depth information. Enhanced HDR provides true-to-life skin tones and detailed highlights and shadows. A night mode is available for low-light conditions.
Video can be recorded in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps. The recording supports spatial audio and an Audio Mix feature to adjust voice and background sound. Machine learning algorithms automatically reduce wind noise.
Battery Life and Charging
Thanks to the power-efficient A19 chip, C1X modem, and optimizations in iOS 26, the iPhone 17e offers all-day battery life with regular use. Charging via USB-C reaches about 50 percent capacity in 30 minutes (with a 20W or higher adapter).
The device supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging with up to 15W (compared to 7.5W in the older model). A wide range of accessories is available—chargers, stands, wallets, and cases.
Satellite and Safety Features
Even outside of cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, users can communicate via messages, summon help with SOS, or use assistance services via satellite. The feature also enables location sharing in the Find My app.
Crash detection recognizes serious collisions and automatically contacts emergency services if the user doesn't respond. Satellite services are free for two years from device activation (iPhone 14 and later).
iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence
The iPhone 17e comes with iOS 26 and the new Liquid Glass design. Apple Intelligence provides instant translation in messages, calls, and via AirPods, visual intelligence directly on the screen, call screening from unknown numbers, and assisted hold on the line.

Sustainability and Environment
As part of the Apple 2030 initiative, the company is moving towards carbon neutrality. The iPhone 17e includes 30 percent recycled materials, including 85 percent recycled aluminum in the body and 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery. The supply chain uses 55 percent renewable energy, and the packaging is 100 percent fiber-based and recyclable.
Price and Availability
The iPhone 17e will be available in 256 GB and 512 GB capacities. The base price for the 256 GB model is 16,990 crowns, and the higher 512 GB capacity costs 22,990 crowns.
Pre-orders begin on March 4th, with sales starting on March 11th in over 70 countries worldwide. Silicone and clear MagSafe cases will also be available.
