American actor Eric Dane, known for his roles in Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, recorded a final message for his two daughters shortly before his death.
Netflix shared a video on its YouTube channel titled “Eric Dane’s Final Message To His Daughters and The World.” Remember, the actor passed away on Thursday at 53 due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
“Billie and Georgie, these words are for you. I tried. Sometimes I stumbled, but I tried. Overall, we had a great time, didn’t we?” the actor said in his message.
“Live Right Now”
He then shared some life advice with his daughters. “First, live now, right now, in the present. It’s tough, but I learned it,” he said. “For years, I got lost in my mind, wandering in my thoughts for hours, drowning in worries, self-pity, shame, and doubt. I kept replaying my decisions and questioning myself: ‘I shouldn’t have done that. I should never have done that.’ But not anymore.”
“Second, fall in love. It doesn’t have to be with a person, though I recommend that too. But fall in love with something,” Dane said. “Find your passion, your joy. Find what gets you out of bed in the morning.” He added that he fell in love with acting when he was around his daughters’ age.
“Third, choose your friends wisely. Find your people and let them find you, and then open up to them. The best ones will give it back to you. No judgment, no conditions, no questions,” the actor states.
“Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You mean everything to me. Goodnight. I love you. Those are my final words,” Dane concluded.
