The show that launched her career is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Miley Cyrus has a surprise for fans that no one expected.
The surprise titled Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is set to premiere on March 24 on Disney+ and was filmed in front of a studio audience.
The evening will feature a personal interview with Miley Cyrus by Alexandra Cooper, known from the podcast Call Her Daddy. In it, the singer will look back on the time when she transformed from a young actress into an idol for many girls worldwide.
Fans will also get to see previously unreleased behind-the-scenes footage and recreated sets that they remember from the show. They'll see the Stewart family's house and her iconic wardrobe, writes The Rolling Stone.
There’s a hint that music might also make an appearance. Disney mentioned in an official statement the return of familiar tunes. “A few well-known melodies will make a comeback and take center stage once again.” Some of Hannah's biggest hits were “Nobody’s Perfect,” “Supergirl,” and “If We Were a Movie.”
Miley doesn't hide the fact that this project is very personal to her, and Hannah Montana will always be part of her identity. “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that impacted my life and the lives of many fans, and for that connection, I will always be grateful. I’m very proud that even after all these years, it still means so much to people. With this ‘Hannahversary,’ I want to celebrate and thank the fans who have supported me for 20 years,” she revealed in a statement.
