The first reactions to director Emerald Fennell's film are in. And it seems like it really hit the mark.
The movie "Wuthering Heights" is inspired by the novel of the same name by Emily Brontë. It's set to premiere on February 13. But even before its release, the film sparked intense discussions among the public about everything from casting critiques to the edgy trailer. Some critics got a sneak peek at the film, and despite initial skepticism, it seems to have won them over. Margot Robbie stars as Catherine Earnshaw, who falls for Heathcliff, played by Jacob Elordi, an orphan raised alongside her in her grand home. *"Only Emerald Fennell can take a classic, turn it upside down, make you absolutely crave it, and then totally wreck your soul. A stunning showcase of craftsmanship that left me drooling over the costumes, cinematography, and set design. I’m obsessed,"* writes Variety critic Jazz Tangcay. ### A Thrilling Experience! *"Wuthering Heights is absolute perfection. It's not just visually flawless, bursting with energy and breathtaking shots, but it embodies desire. You feel everything during and after watching it. I loved everything about this film,"* adds host Maude Garrett. *"Fall in love again and again with Emerald Fennell and her take on the novel. With stunning production and costumes, impressive cinematography, and bombastic music by Charli XCX, the film leans into the passion and obsession of Catherine and Heathcliff in their turbulent love story,"* adds Meredith Loftus from Collider. *"For me, the issue is that a dense, complicated, and challenging book can't be adapted,"* the director explained before the film's release. *"I can't say I'm filming Wuthering Heights. That's not possible. I can only say I'm filming my version,"* she explained.
