Actor Matthew Perry recalled his problems with alcohol and drugs, during which he was said to have been most supported by his colleague Jennifer Aniston. The couple met while filming the series Friends and formed a strong bond of friendship.

Jenny, as the actor called her, warned him that not only she knew about his problems with alcohol, but so did the whole crew. According to the actor, Aniston was the most important to him, and he is very grateful to her. In the trailer for the interview with Diane Sawyer, he admitted that in his heyday, the place to enjoy popularity was him being locked in his room surrounded almost exclusively by drug dealers.

He also mentioned that he took 55 doses of Vicodin at his worst. Quoting his words from the autobiographical book Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, host Sawyer also talked about using methadone, xanax and drinking a liter bottle of vodka.

Due to the excessive use of drugs and alcohol, the actor ended up in a coma and almost died. He decided to talk about his problems to help people struggling with addictions. The full version of the interview with host Diane Sawyer will premiere on ABC on October 28, 2022.
