The Balenciaga fashion house's offer is full of surprises in the form of bizarre products whose practical use is questionable. In the brand's brick-and-mortar stores, bags that resemble garbage bags are the latest to become available. They are priced at €1,750 and are available in three colours - black, white and blue.
The extravagant bag, called Trash Pouch, was first seen at the show of the unisex collection designed for autumn/winter 2022, which the fashion house's creative director Demna Gvasalia dedicated to Ukraine and the climate crisis.
Gvasalia began the show by saying, "This show needs no explanation. It is dedicated to fearlessness, resistance and the triumph of love and peace," to WWD after the show: "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make the world's most expensive garbage bag."
