The official poster for the new season of Euphoria has divided fans. Many are saying it has lost its charm.
HBO just dropped the first poster for the third season of Euphoria, but fans aren’t exactly thrilled. Many are complaining that it looks completely different from the previous ones, reports Hauterfly.
The visual features Zendaya as Rue front and center, but you'll also catch familiar faces like Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer. The poster is supposed to hint at the story evolving into a more mature phase, but fans seem to have an issue with its look and feel.
A lot of people are saying the new design feels too plain and lacks the vibe they’re used to. They remember previous posters as being more artistic and “dreamy”, while this one seems a bit unfinished.
Some even compared it to the aesthetics of the video game GTA. Of course, there are some who like the new style, but negative reactions seem to dominate for now. On Reddit, it was also compared to the look of the “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” movie poster.
Still, the series itself promises big things. Besides bringing back familiar faces, they’re adding new names like Sharon Stone, Rosalía, and Natasha Lyonne. The music is in the hands of Hans Zimmer, so there’s definitely something to get excited about.
Director and writer Sam Levinson says the third season will be the darkest and most mature yet. The characters will no longer be protected by the school environment and will face the consequences of their own decisions. The new season is set to hit screens on April 12.
