The released police video from Justin Timberlake's 2024 arrest sheds new light on the incident. The footage shows his behavior during the check, issues with sobriety tests, and unclear responses to police questions.
American singer Justin Timberlake is back in the spotlight after police video footage of his 2024 arrest for driving under the influence was released. The video was made public despite his legal efforts to prevent it.
The video shows a police intervention in the Hamptons, New York, specifically in Sag Harbor. Timberlake was stopped after reportedly ignoring a stop sign and not staying in his lane. This was reported by The Guardian.
Police stated they smelled alcohol on Justin Timberlake, leading to field sobriety tests. The footage shows the singer struggling with the tests and appearing unsteady.
During one of the tests, he even admitted: “These tests are hard.” The video also captures a brief exchange with an officer. When asked what he was doing in town, Timberlake replied: “I'm on a world tour.”
When questioned about his occupation, he hesitated, saying: “It's hard to explain” but then added: “I'm on a world tour and my name is Justin Timberlake,” finally clarifying his identity and reason for being there.
Timberlake also claimed he had “only one martini” before driving and was trying to get home to his friends. The released footage, which is around eight hours long, documents the entire police incident.
Its publication now offers a more detailed look at the incident, which was previously known mostly from brief police reports.
