John Galliano Returns to Fashion: Announces Unexpected Collab with Zara

FASHION

The fashion world has been eagerly waiting to see where the steps of this brilliant eccentric would lead. Gucci? Balenciaga? The former creative director of Dior has announced a two-year partnership with Zara.

It's been over a year since John Galliano in 2024 wrapped up his unforgettable, decade-long tenure at Maison Margiela, as Vogue reports. His swan song (the legendary Artisanal show where models walked alongside the moonlit Seine like eerie dolls) has made an indelible mark on history.

Since then, the fashion world has buzzed with guesses about his next move. Instead of stepping into another historic fashion house, he surprised everyone. The British designer who defined Dior’s late '90s aesthetic confirmed a two-year creative partnership with Zara.

What happens when the global reach of a fast-fashion giant meets the mind of one of fashion's biggest visionaries? According to the official statement, Galliano has free rein to dive into the brand's archives, planning to “deconstruct and reconfigure them into new seasonal expressions”. We'll witness the result of this designer alchemy in September 2026.

The designer told Vogue that work in his Paris studio is already in full swing. “Bringing fashion through such a massive platform is, of course, exciting. And having the resources they have is just as fascinating,” he shared enthusiastically. The big question is how Zara will present this collection, but it's highly likely we'll see a spectacular show during fashion week.
