“I Want to Bring Mainly Music and Emotion.” Czech Republic to be Represented by Singer Daniel Žižka at Eurovision

MUSIC

Czech Republic has chosen its representative for this year's edition of one of the world's most-watched music competitions.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest, happening mid-May, will feature 23-year-old Czech singer Daniel Žižka with his track CROSSROADS. He's one of the standout talents of the upcoming music generation.

"I Want to Bring Music and Emotion"

"Eurovision is a massive platform and a big show. But what I really want to bring is music and emotion. I’m not looking to compete in loudness. I want to firmly stand by who I am as an artist," Žižka shares.

The singer stands out not just for his technical skill, but especially for his ability to combine a mature performance with natural calmness and authenticity. This contrast was evident from the first listening sessions, according to ESC Czech delegation head Kryštof Šámal.

"When Daniel came into the studio and nailed his song effortlessly, silence fell in the room. Not because he was loud, but because he was incredibly focused and confident. That performance was disarming—technically precise yet full of emotion," said Šámal. "It was clear we were watching an artist who knows exactly who he wants to be."

When Will the Song Premiere?

The contest song CROSSROADS will premiere on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel on Wednesday, March 11th.

The semifinals will air on ČT2 on May 12th and 14th, and the final on ČT1 on May 16th. This year, Eurovision takes place in Vienna, with a total of 36 countries participating. Some countries are boycotting the contest due to Israel's involvement. These include Iceland, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Slovenia.
