Cristiano Ronaldo Expands His Portfolio: Buys Stake in Spanish Football Club

The Portuguese football legend has acquired a 25% stake in the Spanish club UD Almería through his investment company.

Cristiano Ronaldo is still an active player and has now become a co-owner of a football club. The Portuguese star bought a 25% stake in the Spanish club UD Almería through his investment company CR7 Sports Investments.

“I've long had the ambition to contribute to football off the field as well. UD Almería is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear growth potential. I'm looking forward to working with the club's management and supporting the next phase of its development,” Ronaldo said about his entry into the club.

The financial details of the deal weren't disclosed. Ronaldo is currently 41 years old and is the highest-paid player in football history. Since 2022, he's been playing for the Saudi club Al-Nassr, where he earns about 200 million euros annually according to BBC.

UD Almería's president Mohamed Al Khereiji also commented on the investment: “We're thrilled that Cristiano decided to invest in our club. He's considered the greatest player of all time, knows Spanish football really well, and understands the potential of what we're building here—both at the first team and academy level.”
