Avoid This Seat on the Plane: Former Flight Attendant's Tips

OTHER

A former flight attendant shares which seats to avoid and what you shouldn't keep in your checked luggage.

Eleanor, who used to work as a flight attendant for Ryanair, shared her experiences with travelers and offered advice on what should never go into checked baggage. After years on board, traveling to many countries, she now shares her stories on YouTube.

What does she recommend not to pack in your checked baggage? According to her, laptops and other electronic devices with batteries should stay out because they could risk causing a fire. Flight attendants wouldn't be able to put out such a fire. "I can say that there shouldn't be any laptops or computers in the baggage because an overheated battery could cause a fire—and if the source isn't in the cabin, it can't be stopped," says Eleanor according to Mirror.

Besides battery safety, she also advises on seat choices. She explains to avoid seat 11A. It looks like it's by a window, but there's actually no window there.

Similarly, she suggests avoiding row 32 on Boeing 737 MAX planes. It's near the emergency exits, and the crew seats face the passengers, so during takeoff and landing, you'll be under observation.
