The newest film of the Swedish director Ruben Östlund featuring the movie star Woody Harrelson received delightful reactions of the audience and critics at the Cannes film festival. After the screening of Triangle of Sadness, the theatre saw an 8-minute long thrilling standing ovation, according to The Independent.
According to those in attendance at the festival, this enthusiastic reaction overcame the atmosphere after the screening of the long-awaited hit Top Gun: Maverick. The black comedy tells a story of a celebrity couple during a cruise at a luxurious ship. Apart from the 61-year old Hollywood actor, the film also features Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean Kriek and Dolly De Leon.
According to the guests, the satiric film, mocks the lifestyle of the super rich, influencers, but also the gender stereotypes of today. Many of the guests labeled it as the best movie at the festival so far. "Triangle of Sadness is a totally f*cked up madness in the best possible way.
