TikTok is launching feature, which allows users to tag comments under the videos. During the trial phase, the platform users will be able to report inappropriate or irrelevant comments, says The Verge. However, the "dislike" tag will not be displayed to other users and the number of tags will only be visible to platform staff.
In a blog post, the company justified the introduction of this feature by saying, that it will increase security and improve the overall environment within the TikTok community.

Starting today, app users can symbolically "thumbs down" videos if they are not interested. TikTok, on behalf of the head of the "Trust and Security" section Cormac Keenan, revealed, that they are also experimenting with sending block, deleting or comment filtering requests to creators, whose videos are most likely to score negatively.
Tiktok is yet to take a decision on the nationwide introduction of this option of 'negative tagging' or 'dislike tagging' of comments in the upcoming weeks. The platform claims that it erased 85 million comments due to community policy violations between October and December 2021, which is one percent of the total number of videos published at the time.
