Here are the 7 most interesting moments from the ready-to-wear collections. Enjoy the hottest trends from Versace, Fendi, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini or Jil Sander, which appeared at the latest Fashion Weeks.
Tod's
We decided to dedicate the introduction of today's selection to the Italian brand Tod's, which has been building on the traditions of honest craftsmanship for more than 100 years, and nothing less than precision and excellence was the case of the women's collection for spring / summer 2022.
SS 2022 is full of timeless pieces that combine the detailed texture of materials with a sleek office design, making them easy to wear even on days off. Dominant are neutrals, complemented by bolder tones.
We were most intrigued by short trench coats inspired by men's transitional jackets, classic leather motorcycle jackets, and platform boots. The accessories included the iconic T Timeless handbags, which the design team adapted to current trends.
Below you can watch a video from the show, with its main star Gigi Hadid.
Fendi by Versace – Versace by Fendi
Versace fashion house put on the perfect show, presenting a number of interesting models of clothing and accessories for both men and women.
Donatella Versace and Kim Jones exchanged positions to design each others' collaborative collection and showed the best of both brands, including logomania, distinctive Baroque patterns, elegance and shiny materials, which underlined the uniqueness of this partnership. A bonus was the star cast in the audience and on the catwalk, with luxury pieces walked by Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Emily Ratajkowski and Gigi Hadid.
Under the project called The Swap, or better said, Fendace, both parties presented 50 complete silhouettes, through which we see the vision of the Versace and Fendi brands for this year's spring and summer seasons. This is exactly what fashion collaboration should look like.
Jil Sander
On the other hand, the management of the Jil Sander brand has traditionally relied on minimalism and it was, once again, a bullseye. Meyers have been running this German fashion house for four years now. In their own words for the Vogue magazine, the women's collection for spring / summer 2022 has sought a closer connection with the real world, which we believe, they have managed seamlessly.
The individual designs of the upper layers, trousers, shoes and accessories are extremely elegant, but we can still imagine them not only at business conferences, but also in the streets. True for all their models, clean and simple lines in basic colours are a dominant feature, and you will certainly appreciate the timelessness sooner or later.
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini
Although Italian Lorenzo Serafini is not one of the most famous designers, his work has long been worth paying attention to. Under its own brand called Philosophy, it presents amazing collections with a touch of femininity and romance.
Serafini celebrates the freedom, feminine beauty and uniqueness that we hide within us. In recent seasons, designer has grown accustomed to relying mainly on preppy-uniformed style and distinctive knitwear, which has now been replaced by bold pieces of underwear and sets with exposed cleavages. He told Vogue, that this was a return to his fashion beginnings.
On the catwalk, we also saw long dresses resembling the late 90s fashion, or short denim skirts, which will be a very hot trend in 2022. The lace dress in white and black won our hearts.
Saint Laurent
The spectacular show, which will be remembered for a long time, was presented in Paris by designer Anthony Vaccarello and his team under the banner of Saint Laurent. He convinced us once again that he is a great successor of Hedi Sliman, who is currently completely changing the face of the fashion house Celine.
Vaccarello unveiled his women's ready-to-wear spring / summer 2022 collection right in front of the Eiffel Tower, which gave the show a great atmosphere. Be sure to check out the whole show in the video below.
Most of the models are inspired by men's clothing, which is reflected, for example, in the width of the shoulders in almost all the jackets and blazers. On the other hand, the trousers are usually completely narrow and perfectly adhere to the silhouettes of the models. We must also highlight sophisticated upper layers -the asymmetrical cuts and contrasting pieces of statement jewellery - which cannot be overlooked.
Balmain
Olivier Rousteing celebrated 10 years as the creative director of the Balmain fashion house in style - with the love-at-first-sight Spring / Summer 2022 collection. The show was opened by Naomi Campbell and closed by Carla Bruni, a moment we will be happy to remember for years.
The entire ready-to-wear collection was a celebration of a great decade of the French brand and at the same time had a level that is worthy of the Balmain name. On the catwalk we saw the sensuality of seamless tailoring of elegant models, elaborate details of leather jackets, bold and sometimes erotic lines of tops, or pieces inspired by military uniforms.
Everything worked together perfectly, and both men and women will definitely get their money's worth from this collection. We give the 10 out of 10 for courage, imagination and the beautiful execution of individual ideas.
Burberry
Riccardo Tisci brought the French fashion house Givenchy back into the light a few years ago, and now continues to do the replicate this success under the wings of the Burberry brand. This time he charmed us with a sophisticated but at the same time sexy women's collection.
The 46-year-old designer and creative director of the British fashion brand dedicated the collection to his recently deceased mother. The result is a combination of happy and sad emotions, which he transformed into 52 complete silhouettes in refined cuts and inspired colored or patterned versions.
The thousands did not forget about the Burberry traditions, and at the London catwalk, models also showed several trench coats in various lengths with a typical check-patterned lining.
