VIDEO: Forget Episode Nine of Stranger Things. Netflix is Giving You the Whole Series

MOVIES & SERIES

In less than a month, you’re in for a real treat with a fresh batch of stories from the Stranger Things universe. The series is making a comeback in animated form.

“Welcome back to the town of Hawkins! It's the winter of 1985, and our familiar gang has to face new monsters and crack a paranormal mystery.” That's how Netflix is officially teasing the new animated series set between seasons 2 and 3 of the original live-action show.

Stranger Things: Tales from '85 will bring most of the main characters back to the screen, along with a few new ones who didn’t appear in live-action. Judging by the first trailer, it’s going to be a bit more action-packed, likely because in this format, scenes like these don’t gobble up the entire series budget.

However, there’s a new twist with the cast—specifically, the voice actors. The original show's actors decided to take a well-deserved break after the fifth season of Stranger Things, so newcomers are stepping in.

It's not the only spin-off Netflix has planned. The show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, announced some time ago that there's also going to be another live-action series focusing more on the scientific aspect and the very essence of the Upside Down and its creatures.

In addition to that, Netflix has already announced that later this year, the acclaimed and super popular play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which dives deeper into the past of Vecna/Henry Creel, will hit the stream. So, you won't be short on Stranger Things content.
