They Will Kill You (They'll Kill You!) mixes elements of horror, action, and dark humor.
The horror action comedy They Will Kill You premieres today in Slovak cinemas. The story focuses on a young woman fighting for her life in a luxury hotel.
She quickly discovers that behind its facade operates a closed group of residents with their own rules. It's actually a twisted haven for a sadistic cult of rich folks desperately in need of a fresh victim.
The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov, with producers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, who were behind the successful movie “IT”. The idea came from the director's own experience, inspired by the atmosphere when he moved into an apartment building, turning it into a story.
“Eight years ago, my wife and I moved into a peculiar 16-story tower and found out we were the only ones under sixty. The building was almost entirely inhabited by older women who had cats and hated us because we had a dog. They constantly sat outside whispering. We started joking that the whole building belonged to some cult, renting out our apartment just to lure young people and then sacrifice them,” the director revealed.
The main role is played by Zazie Beetz, whom you might know from movies like Joker or Deadpool 2. You can also look forward to Patricia Arquette, who appeared in the series Severance. The film also features Tom Felton, famous as Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter.
