The SDGs Awards 2026, the most prestigious sustainability awards in the Czech Republic, are on the hunt for projects and individuals who bring real solutions, not just words. Applications are open from March 8 to April 22, 2026.
Are you changing the world from a lab, garage, the streets, or even through your own app? Maybe you should enter the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Awards given by the Association for Social Responsibility. “The SDGs Awards are a unique global recognition that we've had the chance to present at the UN. They celebrate real change, the courage to tackle specific problems, measure impact, and take responsibility. This year, we're looking for voices that don't want to wait for someone else to solve things—they're taking action,” says Lucie Mádlová, founder and director of the Association for Social Responsibility.
Since its inception in 2017, 1,600 projects have been part of the awards, connecting people across sectors and boosting the credibility of those who take action, while giving a voice where it's needed. In 2026, the awards will be presented in six categories:
and actively contributing to solving current issues.
● Health and Quality of Life: Looking for projects and individuals improving physical and mental
health and quality of life in society.
● Human Rights, Dignity, and Social Justice: Awards for initiatives
and individuals promoting equal opportunities, human dignity, or the rights
of disadvantaged groups.
● Democracy and Civic Engagement: Celebrating activities strengthening democratic
principles, civic participation, and trust in public debate.
● Climate Change and Nature Protection: Highlighting specific and measurable solutions in the field
of climate protection and environmental conservation.
● Innovation and Technology: Recognizing tech solutions contributing to positive
social or environmental change with clearly defined benefits
and measurable impact.
Both individuals and projects can apply. The condition is real-world functionality and clear impact. Participation is free.

“Sustainability for me isn’t just a strategy tucked away in a drawer or a chapter in an annual report. It’s a decision we make every day, in business and in personal life. Society needs more people who aren’t afraid to take responsibility and start acting instead of waiting. I’m glad that the SDGs Awards give a voice to these projects and personalities. It's more important today than ever,” adds Michaela Chaloupková, member of the board and Chief Sustainability Officer of the ČEZ Group.
The winners will be announced on September 17 this year at the summit "Sustainability is not Dead," and the decision will be made by a jury of prominent personalities from various fields. The jury will include polar biologist Marie Šabacká, surgeon and humanitarian mission participant Tomáš Šebek, executive director of the initiative Díky, že můžem Bára Stárek, and scientist and creator of the project "Klimatomluva" Daniel Kortus. The panel will also feature other experts from media, science, public administration, and civil society.
