A woman suspected of shooting near singer Rihanna's house in Los Angeles has been charged with attempted murder.
A woman suspected of shooting at singer Rihanna's house in Los Angeles has been officially charged with attempted murder. The incident happened while the singer was on the property with her family.
According to prosecution documents, 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz allegedly fired several shots towards the singer's home. At the time of the incident, there were several people on the property, including Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their three children.
Rihanna's mom, talent agent Tracey Jacobs, and two other people were also present. The presence of nine people on the property is why prosecutors say the woman faces multiple charges of assault with a firearm.
Ortiz reportedly has a history of psychological issues. Her ex-husband, Jed Nikko Valdez Sangalang, represented by lawyer Hal Roen, told TMZ that Ortiz was involuntarily placed in a psychiatric facility before 2023.
Court documents obtained by TMZ also state that in April 2024, a Florida court granted Sangalang custody of their child. The decision prohibits Ortiz from any personal, phone, video call, or text communication with the child unless the court decides otherwise.
The woman was detained by police after the incident and is currently facing criminal prosecution related to the shooting at the singer's house in the Los Angeles area. The investigation is still ongoing.
