The live-action series God of War has introduced four more actors to its lineup.
The TV adaptation of the game God of War for Amazon Prime Video has just added four new actors to its cast. According to Variety, Louis Cunningham (Modi), Ben Chapple (Magni), Evelyn Miller (Gna), and Island Austin (Thrud) have joined the project. Cunningham and Austin will have permanent roles, while Chapple and Miller will appear repeatedly but not continuously.
Louis Cunningham is a British actor most recently associated with the series Bridgerton. Ben Chapple was featured in the fantasy series The Nevers by HBO. Australian actress Evelyn Miller is known primarily for House of the Dragon and the Australian drama series The Twelve. Isla Austin also appeared in House of the Dragon.
The newcomers join the previously announced cast: Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Callum Vinson as Atreus, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka as Brok and Sindri, and Ed Skrein as Baldur. Production has already begun, and Amazon released the first look at the series.
The story will be based on the two latest games in the series, where Kratos tries to raise his ten-year-old son Atreus amidst conflicts with Norse mythology gods. The plot follows their journey to scatter Faye's ashes — the wife and mother — as Kratos teaches his son to be a better god and Atreus, in turn, teaches his father to be a better human.
The fan-made first look video is considered terrible by David Jeffe, who expressed his opinion in a video on his YouTube channel.
The project has secured a two-season order right off the bat. Ronald D. Moore is the showrunner, writer, and executive producer under the Tall Ship Productions banner. The first two episodes will be directed by Frederick E.O. Toye. The production involves Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
