VIDEO: From Innocent Fairy Tale to Adult Horror - This Pinocchio Isn't for Kids

MOVIES & SERIES

The creators behind the controversial horror 'Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey' bring another twisted adaptation of a children's classic.

The legendary tale of Pinocchio is back, but its new version might surprise you. A horror project from Jagged Edge Productions offers a dark twist on the classic story, viewing the iconic wooden puppet as a disturbing tale of growing up and the desire to become a "real" being.

"We crafted Pinocchio to feel as real as possible,” said director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. According to Variety, it's a twisted coming-of-age story told from the puppet's perspective, fighting for its own autonomy while manipulated by dark and sinister forces.

The film is directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and produced by Scott Jeffrey, the duo behind the controversial title Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. This suggests that viewers are in for a brutal and significantly darker version of the well-known story than they're used to.

This horror universe also includes titles like Bambi: The Reckoning and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare. The premiere and other details haven’t been released yet, but one thing's for sure: we'll be getting this brutal horror before the year is out.
