Filming for the 20th anniversary special of the Hannah Montana series is in full swing.
Miley Cyrus was spotted as Hannah Montana for the first time in years while filming the 20th anniversary special of the original series in Malibu. Fans caught a glimpse of her rocking the blonde wig and her TV alter ego's iconic outfit.
Last week, Disney+ dropped a teaser on Instagram showcasing a decked-out convertible with the license plate HM20. "We're going back to where it all began. The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres March 24th on Disney+," the caption reads.
The special will be hosted by Alex Cooper, known for her podcast Call Her Daddy. It promises never-before-seen archival footage and will take viewers back to some of the show’s most iconic scenes. Miley is also rumored to perform some of Hannah Montana’s biggest hits.
"Collaborating with Miley on this special is a dream come true, and we want it to be a love letter to fans who are as excited today as they were almost 20 years ago when the show first aired," said Ayo Davis, head of Disney Branded Television.
