While most of the world was celebrating Valentine's Day, fashion was the star in New York. New York Fashion Week is one of the top fashion events globally, and we've picked out the best moments and brands that are worth keeping an eye on.
A six-day program packed with fashion and happenings. More than 60 shows and presentations from designers in the USA. That's what this year’s New York Fashion Week looked like. Big fashion houses like Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Alexander Wang, and Coach were featured. Yet, younger brands took more risks, showing a progressive direction. Who caught our attention the most?
Is Jenny Humphrey back?
If you watched the American series Gossip Girl between 2007 and 2012, you definitely know who we're talking about. If not, Jenny is a fictional character eager to break into the fashion world and become a designer. So why are we diving into the past when we're talking about New York Fashion Week 2026?
The brand 7 For All Mankind showcased a new collection, with some pieces looking like they were straight out of the designs Jenny wore and created in Gossip Girl. The whole internet is buzzing about it.
7 For All Mankind, founded in 2000 in LA, became famous primarily for its jeans. The entire FW26 collection is like a blast of nostalgia wrapped in oversized bags, skinny pants, and huge sunglasses. For Millennials, it's a trip back to their roots; for Gen Z, it’s fresh Y2K aesthetics. The brand, popularized by Paris Hilton in the early 2000s, was closely tied to the club scene, paparazzi photos, and belly piercings. This show clearly marks a loud return to the scene.
Vampire creations with a touch of elegance
Collina Strada isn’t just a fashion brand; it’s been spreading awareness for climate, social issues, and self-expression since its inception.
The fall collection "The World is a Vampire" warns us to be cautious about whom and what we invite into our sanctuaries. The collection referenced long winters and cleverly used the word "ICE" as something invading American streets. The show featured models with collars, large wigs, layered outfits, and a mix of materials and shapes. According to the brand's creative director, Hillary Taymour, collars are meant to protect and cover vulnerable spots that vampires might target.
Backstage on stage
American rapper, producer, actor, and fashion designer A$AP Rocky unveiled a new FW26 collection under his creative platform AWGE. Unlike most shows with clear set design and aesthetics, Rocky broke the mold by letting the audience peek straight into the backstage. In the center stood a backstage scene where final touches like makeup and hairdos were perfected before the models strutted out.
The diversity of the outfits was striking—from Italian tailoring to latex pieces, motorcycle gear, leather jackets, and evening gowns. The fits also featured bold accessories. Rocky’s fatherhood was evident, with strollers and fur carriers making an appearance. A video of a supportive Rihanna, sitting front row at the show, made waves across social media.
The return of emo aesthetics and punk
Coach’s creative director Stuart Vevers showcased a vision of today’s youth culture in his FW26 collection. A mix of tailored sportswear, evening gowns, and worn jerseys simulated creativity reminiscent of school rebellion. Vevers’ love for vintage was evident, like in a repurposed handbag made from an old baseball glove.
Key pieces were inside-out blazers, deliberately unconventional ties, and heavy grunge plaid patterns. The visual style, at times, felt like a return to school, with accessories like skate sneakers and satin dresses. The brand announced a limited edition release of varsity jackets in wool or leather after the show.
