VIDEO: A Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Sequel is Heading to Netflix, But Tarantino Won't Direct

The team-up of Brad Pitt and David Fincher is making a comeback with the film The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a sequel to the hit movie – Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by Quentin Tarantino.

Tarantino aimed to make no more than 10 films, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was his ninth. For his grand finale, he didn't dive into directing the sequel but instead wrote the script and handed it over to other equally talented hands.

These director's hands belong to none other than David Fincher, who brings his strong authorship style to the sequel. However, the sequel distances itself from the character Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and according to Fincher, the plot will be “an episode from the life of Cliff Booth,” played by Brad Pitt.

What might disappoint some fans is the Netflix logo at the end of the trailer. Netflix acquired the movie’s script from Tarantino and teamed up with Fincher. But don’t worry – according to Variety, the film is also set to be released in select theaters, kicking off a new era of film presentations.

It seems they have a lot of faith in the film – the budget has skyrocketed to an astronomical 200 million dollars. That's twice as much as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and makes The Adventures of Cliff Booth the most expensive film for both Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher.
