According to a Kremlin spokesman, the "special military operation" in Ukraine could end in the foreseeable future. Russia continues to refuse to label its aggression in Ukraine as war, but still claims that the set military goals are currently being met according to their plan, meaning, the conflict might not last much longer.

Dmitry Peskov said, that the Russian army was fulfilling the goals set by the headquarters not only on the battlefield, but that the peace negotiations with the Ukrainian side were also proceeding according to plan. According to Peskov, Russian negotiators are doing a good job.

In a statement of Putin's spokesman, Moscow commented on the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the UN Human Rights Council. Member countries of the General Assembly suspended Russia's membership in response to the massacre of civilians in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

According to Peskov, Russia perceives, that several countries tried to take a "balanced position" when voting to exclude Russia from the Human Rights Council, but allegedly faced enormous pressure. The Kremlin expressed pity over the exclusion of Russia from the UN Human Rights Council, but praised the approach of 24 countries, led by China, which decided to vote against this final resolution.

A total of 93 states voted in favour of the resolution in question, 24 were against and 58 countries abstained. Although the resolution was initially drafted on the basis of allegations of Russian murder of the civilian population in the town of Bucha, reports of more massacres in the town of Borodanka have leaked to the public since then.

On Friday, the Russian army bombed a railway station in the town of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine. At least 30 people were killed and more than 100 injured in the attack. According to Ukrainian authorities, there were about 4,000 people at the time of the rocket attack trying to evacuate to safer regions of the country. Russia has denied responsibility for the attack.
