HOT news from the world of high fashion set to dominate the upcoming season.
Luxury fashion house Balenciaga is stepping into a new chapter by introducing the Radar sneaker model. It’s the first sports shoe design under the creative direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli, signaling the future direction of this French icon.
At first glance, the new release impresses with its futuristic look and standout technical details, blending a low-profile aesthetic with Balenciaga's identity and codes.
The most striking feature is the double-lacing system that wraps around the top of the sneaker. It creates not only an original visual effect but also ensures a solid and stable fit. The ergonomics are highlighted by a uniquely shaped sole with a prominent grip that elegantly curves along the side.
The result is a dynamic, almost organic appearance that combines sporty functionality with an avant-garde fashion approach.
Piccioli is also preparing an altered version called Radar Ballerina, which will bring the same technological DNA with a softer, lower look.
The Balenciaga Radar model is currently available for pre-order through the online store and selected retailers. A wider market launch with new color variations is planned for the end of March, with the Radar Ballerina version expected to be one of the most talked-about pieces of the upcoming season.
This new release confirms that Balenciaga maintains a strong position in the field of experimental luxury fashion by offering a statement that combines technology, bold aesthetics, and a vision for the future. The model is priced at 790 euros.
Balenciaga is a luxury fashion house based in Paris, founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1919. The designer from San Sebastián crafted models for the Spanish royal family and aristocracy until the civil war forced him to close shops in his country. He then lived and worked in the French capital.
The fashion house is now part of the Kering conglomerate, with Pierpaolo Piccioli as the creative director, who took over from Demna Gvasalia in May 2025.
