Billionaire Elon Musk's transgender daughter wants to cut herself off from her father. Today, the 18-year-old woman, whose name was previously Xavier Alexander Musk, asked a court in the US state of California to allow her to change the gender on her birth certificate and approve the use of her new name, Sky News reports.

In court documents that are publicly available online, Musk's daughter comments on the reasons why she is asking for a legal change of name. In her own words, she "does not want to be associated with her biological father in any way."

Daughter, whose new name is hidden in the documents, does not explain in detail why a conflict arose between her and her father, nor does she say what caused it. It is not even known whether Elon Musk is communicating with his daughter or whether they have broken off their contact several years ago. He seldom spoke directly about it.

Billionaire Musk has a transgender daughter with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, with whom they divorced in 2008 and have not kept in regular contact since.

Social media is debating whether Musk's daughter refuses to be associated with her biological father, for example, because her father publicly declared support for the American Republican Party a few months ago. Several politicians on this side regularly propose legislation aimed at restricting the rights of transgender people in the United States.

Musk has even criticized transgender people on Twitter in the past because he was bothered by the use of specific pronouns to reach individuals in the community. "I definitely support trans [people], but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare," he wrote on social media in December 2020. A few months earlier, he wrote that "pronouns are useless."
