The collaboration between the Gucci fashion house and the Palace Skateboards brand is a now a reality. Designer Alessandro Michele's special collaboration with co-founders of the London streetwear icon Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis is a meeting of two different worlds, combining elements of luxury fashion with a unique atmosphere from the skateboarding environment.
For the Palace Skateboards brand, this is probably the biggest event in history, although in the past it has presented collections with brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Moschino and Arc'teryx.
The campaign is full of familiar faces, including skateboarder Lucien Clarke, but also aliens and animated characters - similar to previous Gucci collections.
The comprehensive assortment of the collection is described by the slogan "More Gucci than Gucci itself", and offers mainly unisex models with a touch of the period from the turn of the millennium. The strength of the Palace Skateboards logo, GG monogram and Triferg motif permeates much of the product making the designs very easily identifiable.
In addition to classic ready-to-wear models such as bell-bottom jeans, patterned shirts, leather jackets, sweatshirts or winter hats, the two sides took the debut joint collection to the next level, thanks to the references that only Palace Skateboards can provide. What we have in mind saying this, is primarily the modified Moto Guzzi V7 motorcycle, but also the GG-P Supreme safe or silk pillows with graphic prints.
We can't leave out football jerseys with retro-style collars from the 80s, sheepskin boots, elegant leather moccasins in several colors, miniskirts and bras with the GG monogram or a series of accessories in the form of luggage and bags.
Individual products from the joint collection of Gucci and Palace Skateboards will be available on October 21st in the Gucci Vault online store and in brick-and-mortar stores of the British manufacturer. You can find the list on the website. More than likely, all designs will sell out within minutes of going on sale, and resellers will be offering them at a multiple markup.
Below you will find the accompanying video from director Max Siedentopf, who bet on a combination of reality with unexpected and surprising moments, accompanied by the song Out of Space by The Prodigy from 1992.
