Presenting music or film awards, fashion shows or prestigious galas, such as the Met Gala, are the perfect opportunity for celebrities to show off outfits that will amaze fashion critics and the public.

Unfortunately, they do not always manage this task as expected, and this is also the fault of stylists who do not match the taste of the client or the event. The proof is the most bizarre outfits from the red carpet in 2022, among which you will find model and activist Cara Delevingne with gold patches on her breasts or Latin music star Bad Bunny as Inspector Gadget.

Fredrik Robertsson in a silver dress from the future

Collector of haute couture models and creative director of the brand Björn Axén is one of the most prominent faces at every event to which he receives an invitation. It was no different at this year's Met Gala in New York, where Fredrik Robertsson arrived dressed in an extravagant silver dress from the future by Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen.

The artwork itself looks interesting with a lot of detailed elements, but it would definitely stand out more on a female body.

Cara Delevingne with gold patches across her breasts

British model Cara Delevingne is one of the main faces of the Dior brand, and she came to the premises of the Metropolitan Museum in New York at the Met Gala, in an outfit from the workshops of this French fashion house.

She first appeared on the red carpet in front of dozens of photographers in an inconspicuous red costume, under which she hid a surprise in the form of gold patches on her breasts and lots of chains. At first glance, an attractive choice, but not suitable for such an event - at least from our point of view.

Bride with a cap Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner is an inspiration to tens of millions of women around the world, but she this did not work out. We are talking about the outfit she wore to the Met Gala. Despite the nice idea to celebrate the legacy of the late designer Virgil Abloh, we have to label this outfit as bizarre.

The successful entrepreneur relied on the haute couture POETRY DRESS® wedding dress from the Fall/Winter 2022 collection, which the team of tailors modified according to her wishes, including an embellished cap with a veil. This "cool" factor is not at all suited to an event with a golden age dress code.

Bad Bunny as Inspector Gadget

The biggest Latin music star of recent years had a bizarre premiere on the red carpet of the prestigious Met Gala event. Bad Bunny posed for photographers in a custom-made outfit by designer Riccardo Tisci.

The Puerto Rican singer looked like Inspector Gadget as he wore a fawn wool jumpsuit with ruffled sleeves and a detachable skirt, along with derby shoes with brogue detailing. One of the worst models from the fashion house Burberry that we have seen on the red carpet.

Future in disproportionate Boss models and with a mask on his face

Atlanta rapper Future is one of our favourite artists, but when it comes to fashion, he rarely hits the nail on the head like he does in the recording studio.

The proof is the outfit in which he showed at the Met Gala. The author of dozens of platinum singles arrived covered in disproportionate models from the workshops of the Boss brand, of which he is its ambassador. Future Hendrix was wearing a long black tuxedo with a mosaic decoration and an embroidered name tag, which did not go well with the knee-length shorts. The icing on the cake was silver gloves and a black veil with lots of decorative rhinestones.

Lizzo dressed in a garbage bag

The American singer, known for songs like Juice or About Damn Time, has enough self-confidence to give it away by handfuls, as evidenced by dozens of photos with exposed curves on her Instagram. Lizzo also appears in a similar way in her music videos and on the red carpet.

The thirty-four-year-old native of Detroit appeared in front of the photographers in a long black dress from the studio of Jean-Paul Gaultier, which resembled a garbage bag. Honestly, we don't know if any woman would look good in this monumental design made of light materials... But we have to praise the great visage.

Lil Nas X at the VMAs

Singer Lil Nas X is in a category of his own – his bizarre red carpet outfits would be enough for a separate article. In 2022, the controversial artist "amazed" us the most in an outfit designed by designer Harris Reed, in which he performed at the VMAs award ceremony.

The queer icon wore a silhouette number 8 from the 60 Years a Queen collection, which is made of upcycled feathers and black sequins.

Machine Gun Kelly covered in spikes

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has been one of the most extravagant celebrities in recent years, which he confirmed with an outfit from the workshops of the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana at the American Music Awards gala.

The 32-year-old performer, currently in a relationship with Megan Fox, donned a striking purple suit with hundreds of metal spikes across the top and bottom. He completed the look with chunky studded leather shoes, and we're still wondering whether he stood alone the entire evening so as not to endanger the other invited guests.

Doja Cat with a painted face on a tour of the Mônot studio

The singer Doja Cat was also unmissable during the presentation of the new Mônot brand collection, when she arrived with a painted face. Make-up artist Laurel Charleston took care of the unconventional look, but the final result looked really strange. On the contrary, the asymmetric dress from the workshops of the Parisian atelier of the brand looked divine.

Biker Irina Shayk at the Met Gala

Russian model Irina Shayk is one of our favourite faces in the modelling industry, and we also appreciate her fashion sense, but with the outfit she wore to this year's Met Gala event, she took it a step further.

The attractive brunette wore a leather set from the workshops of the Burberry fashion house, designed by Riccardo Tisci. The model looked great in a leather jacket and pants, but from our point of view, it was an outfit suitable for fashion week and not for a gala evening, which is the most watched social event in New York.
