The era of healthy glowing skin may be over. The glass skin trend, which originated in Korea, will probably soon be replaced by a new, brighter, but also wetter trend.
The creative director of MAC cosmetic brand Terry Barber calls it laminated skin. He debuted it on the catwalk during London Fashion Week at the Fashion East Incubator show, calling his creations "a new level of glowing skin" in an interview with Refinery29. We may see this, at least on the celebrities, in the spring/summer 2023 season:

All brightness and moisture please
Skin is going to be sweaty this season, and that's not a bad thing, Barber told Refinery29. “All the designers I work with talk about sweaty skin. Like you've just come out of the ocean on vacation or you've been on the dance floor or you've just had sex.” It's no longer just about strategically placed highlighter on the cheekbones or shimmer powders in general.
Barber says that he only achieves laminated and "overhydrated" skin with cream products that he layers on top of each other. He used MAC Studio Radiance Face and Body Radiant Sheer Foundation, a liquid makeup with medium coverage, and he really didn't want to skimp on it. This was followed by a very generous layer of the legendary MAC Fix+ spray in the Magic Radiance version, which emphasized the radiance (or rather the moisture at this point) of the skin even more. "I'm not afraid of a little shimmer in the middle of the forehead or on the nose. This is a really beautiful glow all over the face.'

He skipped the blush, choosing only a cream bronzer to slightly highlight the contours of the face on the cheeks and eyes. He claims that this style is suitable even for people with acne or other imperfections, because brightened (let's be honest, wet!) skin suits everyone. She recommends avoiding powder highlighters that accentuate uneven texture and recommends to instead reach for brightening fixing sprays.
"Now we are in a period when we let the makeup gradually absorb into the skin instead of renewing it," says the world makeup artist. According to him, the laminated skin should evoke models walking through the rainforest, just out of the sauna or the spa.
We must add that the final look is slightly reminiscent of Cassie from Euphoria, who also had a "youthful glow" (often mixed with tears) on her face. The show's makeup artist, Donniella Davy, openly said during the production of the series that powders were prohibited in the preparation of all the actors and actresses, and Cassie's skin was always in stark contrast to Maddy's matte skin.
