The TikToker Khaby Lame has become the king of the famous social media platform TikTok. He is followed by 142.5 million people and has therefore officially dethroned the influencer Charli D'Amelio. The Senegalese comic who is currently living in Italy has been working towards this victory for a few years. He has been the second most successful creator on TikTok for over a year.

His humor won over millions

Khaby Lame has been making finny videos for a few years. In a funny and simple way, he points out how everything can be made simple using basic smarts. His creations always end with his typical smile and raising of hands which signifies him saying: "You see? It's so simple."

The videos always have many reshares and a huge response. Khaby believes it is precisely videos without any words and only with gestures which are the key to his success. As he said for The New York Times, this is how he communicates using a "global language" which everyone understands.

The popular hashtag #KhabyToNumberOne which advertised his content also helped him to get to number one on TikTok. It was probably started by fans, who were successful with their goal.
