At the time, she described herself to the Washington Post as a "public figure representing domestic violence," and although she did not mention Depp, she allegedly damaged his reputation and career. The actor is now suing Heard for $ 50 million for defamation of character.

"Mrs. Heard created the role of the victim because Johnny Depp asked her for divorce. She is obsessed with her image, preparing to give the performance of her life" said Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez, adding that Heard was the aggressor of the whole relationship.

The actress' lawyers, on the other hand, argued that the actress had to endure years of emotional, verbal, but also physical abuse from Johnny Depp, who now wanted to "ruin her career." The actress is suing her ex-husband for $ 100 million.

Actor's older sister, who, together with Depp, faced the abuse of their mother as a child, also took part in the lawsuit. "Mom screamed and screamed. Sometimes she hit our dad too," said Christi Dembrowski, adding, that Depp had never resisted his mother's aggressive behaviour.
