Actor and producer Tom Cruise has made it. He made it to the club of the Hollywood creators and actors whose film has made more than a billion dollars in cinemas around the world. A few months ago, something like this was unimaginable for Top Gun: Maverick. Action blockbusters do not usually have such extreme revenues. Just look at the sales of Mad Max: Fury Road (374 million).

Tom Cruise battled representatives of the Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures, who wanted to release the film on streaming platforms. But Cruise knew from the beginning that this was a movie to be seen in the cinema. Fortunately, he, director Joseph Kosinski and other creators succeeded, for which the producers of Paramount Pictures must certainly be grateful.

Top Gun: Maverick is a huge hit. It is only the 50th film in history that has managed to earn more than $ 1 billion in cinemas around the world. It is the most profitable film of the year and the most successful film in Tom Cruise's entire career. He had achieved this success just days before his 60th birthday - to be celebrated on July 3rd.

The new Top Gun is the second most successful film produced by Paramount Pictures. Only the famous Titanic from director James Cameron ($ 2.2 billion) earned more in cinemas.

Top Gun: Maverick will continue to make tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in theatres in the coming weeks and months.

It is very successful, especially in the USA and Canada, and the action feature was made a huge profit even though it did not premiere in Russia and China. It is very unusual for Hollywood blockbusters to earn more only from so-called domestic box offices (USA and Canada).
