Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll has also spoken positively about Alonso. "I have known and admired Fernando for many years. He has a winning mentality in him, as do I. I have made it my goal to bring the best people together to succeed in this highly competitive sport. So it seemed natural to approach Fernando to be part of this team. In recent conversations, we quickly discovered that we share the same ambitions and values."
Team boss Mike Krack hasn't hidden his enthusiasm either. According to him, the team's engineers were thrilled to be working with Alonso. "We're delighted to have Fernando and Lance as our line-up from next season. It's a combination of experience and youth."
