Coca-Cola is doing quite well

The popular cola drink is owned by The The Coca-Cola Company. Its annual turnover is around 33 billion euros. One share currently costs 62.28 euros and the market value is 252 billion euros.

The profits and revenues in the first quarter of 2022 grew more than economists expected. Contributing factors were higher prices and an increased demand for drinks in restaurants as the restrictions to stop the covid-19 pandemic were lifted.

However, the decision to suspend operations in Russia will reduce annual earnings by 4 cent per share. Rising costs for ingredients such as coffee and sugar or a sharp rise in labor and transport costs have forced consumer goods manufacturers to raise prices, but demand has remained resilient, as consumers spending more in this post-pandemic period.
