Finnish Women Are Posting Party Videos Online To Support Prime Minister Sanna Marin. We Can Have Fun Too, They Say

Hundreds of Finnish women have posted videos of themselves dancing and enjoying parties on social networks. They decided to support Prime Minister Sanna Marin, reports The Guardian. Marin has faced criticism from the opposition after a leaked video captured her dancing at a party. The opposition even demanded a drug test from her.

Finnish women upload videos of themselves dancing and having fun with their friends en masse. They added the hashtag Solidarity with Sanna to the videos. The videos flooded Twitter, but they also appeared on other social networks such as Facebook and Instagram. In addition to Finns, women from all over the world began to add their own videos with the hashtag. A compilation of videos from Denmark gained popularity.

Opposition party leader Riikka Purra called on the prime minister to voluntarily submit to a drug test, saying there was a "shadow of doubt" hanging over the prime minister.

"I danced, sang and had fun. Totally legit stuff. And I was never in a situation where I saw or knew that others were using drugs," the Prime Minister responded to criticism from the opposition. “I have a family life, I have a work life and I have free time that I spend with my friends. Basically the same as many people my age," she told reporters.

The politician underwent a drug test on Saturday, the results should be known within a week. Marin declared in advance that she has never taken illegal drugs and that Saturday night did not in any way impair her ability to perform her official duties.

In addition to people on social networks, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also supported Sanna Marin. "The prime minister has a reason to be happy because Finland is joining NATO. (...) So if the Prime Minister of Finland drank a little more on this occasion and therefore danced, there is nothing terrible about it," said Morawiecki.
