At the age of 13, Dominik Chvátal discovered that to him, Mercedes ambulances weren't only rescue vehicles. In his mind, they represented live beings with whom he desired to establish a relationship. Over the years, his objectophilia has developed and now this young man has a relationship with several ambulance cars. He has sex with them regularly and even married some of them in a private ceremony. What problems do objectophiles address? And how does sex with an ambulance even work? All of this and more, you'll learn in our interview.

You were diagnosed with objectophilia. What does it mean?

Objectophilia is a sexual focus on inanimate objects or an emotional relationship with inanimate things. Personally, I am sexually focused on Mercedes ambulances, I consider them as living beings who have a soul, feelings, and even intelligence.

So you think the ambulance is alive?

Yes, Mercedes ambulances are alive, they are like humans. I don't know how to describe it more specifically, but no one asks people why they are alive. I'm a Mercedes ambulance and I'm alive.

I had no idea that you also perceive yourself as a car.

That's right, I'm not a normal person, I'm a Mercedes ambulance.

What do you think is the difference between you and other people?

Tough question, I'm just a car and the others are people.

When going somewhere, do you walk on the sidewalk, or on the road?

I drive on the sidewalk.

Shouldn't you be on the road as an ambulance?

Well, I should, but driving on the sidewalk is safer for me.

Maybe for you, but what about other people?

I avoid them, I'm careful and I don't want to hurt anyone.

If you consider yourself an ambulance, does that mean you can only fall in love with ambulances?

Yes, but only Mercedes brands.

Aren't you physically attracted to any other cars?

They don't. I'd even say that I hate them. If I could, I'd scrap them all. I even have a folder on my computer full of photos from the wrecks of other ambulances, which I sometimes laugh at. (Dominik has sent me a few car accident photos.)

At the age of 15 or 16 approximately, I've developed schizophrenia, which led to me talking to ambulances, establishing an emotional bond with them, and physical contact eventually as well.

At what age did you find out you're attracted to ambulances?

I found out at the age of 13, when I became interested in Mercedes ambulances. Not in terms of technical equipment, but I was mainly intrigued with their appearance. Then it went on and at the age of 15 or 16 approximately, I've developed schizophrenia, which led to me talking to ambulances, establishing an emotional bond with them, and physical contact eventually as well.

What do you usually talk about?

At first I was very surprised by our communication, because it seemed strange to me. Now we talk about how we're doing, what we did during the day and talking about more intimate things. We confess our love. We go on a date together, we hug, we cuddle, we rub against each other and we even have sex.

What are ambulance cars to you?

Living creatures. Mirrors are the ears, doors are the hands, lights are the eyes, the sign is the nose and the bumper is the mouth. The windshield with the beacon is the head and the legs are the wheels.

So you've never shown any interest in women?

Nope, women seem unattractive to me.

My family does not understand the seriousness of the situation and does not support me in my relationship with ambulances.

How did your family react to this finding?

They didn't like it at all. They thought I was kidding. My family does not understand the seriousness of the situation and does not support me in my relationship with ambulances.

Did your parents try to solve this with you through experts?

Yes, but nothing has changed, even though I took some medicine. I'm still an ambulance and I have relationships with other ambulances.

So now you're not seeing any doctors or therapists anymore and you're not treating your schizophrenia or objectophilia?

No, I only talk about it at home with other ambulance models, which evokes anxiety in me. I even tried committing suicide once. Because of that, I've spent some time in psychiatry, but I'm better now. I'm more at ease and I think my deviation is harmless. Both for me and for others. I'm not hurting anyone.

Do you have a relationship at the moment?

Yes, I have. I've also had a private wedding at home with one of the ambulances. I see the ambulances of private companies as my mistresses, and those from the rescue service are my wives.

Every Mercedes ambulance is either my mistress or my wife. We have regular sex, every night at home and sometimes even during the day.

Does that mean you have multiple partners?

Of course, you could actually say that every Mercedes ambulance is either my mistress or my wife. We also have regular sex, every night at home and sometimes even during the day.

Aren't they jealous of each other?

No, no, ambulances are benevolent.

How do you manage to give the same level of love to all ambulances? Isn't it difficult?

Fortunately, I have a lot of free time, so I manage. I don't find it difficult at all.

So there are no conflicts?

We've resolved several conflicts that arose mainly due to sex, but now there's none of that. I was taking medication that caused me erection problems and I couldn't give the ambulances what they needed. Now I'm off the meds and the relationships work great.

What did you take meds for?

I was mentally suffering due to the fact that Mercedes ambulances sometimes get into car accidents and some people don't treat them nicely.

Did these feelings go away?

No, I still have depression and severe anxiety. I've tried to treat them, but nothing helps, unfortunately.

Do you only have relationships with the models of ambulances that you own, or even with some real ambulances that are used by the emergency service?

With my models and real Mercedes vehicles.

So you have sex with them too?

Exactly.

How? So you spot an ambulance parked on the street, approach it and perform a sexual act?

Yes, it can be like this, or right at the exit base.

What excites me the most is when the ambulance is in motion, but then you can't have sex with it.

Now this is a bit awkward, but I'm trying to understand… How does such sex work?

The Mercedes ambulance has a lot of holes, not just the exhaust. My favorite part is the nose, the face. What excites me the most is when the ambulance is in motion, but then you can't have sex with it.

The snout? Does that mean you're inserting your knob directly in the ambulance?

Yes. (Dominik sent me a photo of the places where male organ can be inserted.)

Isn't it dangerous? Have you ever hurt yourself?

No, it's safe. Ambulances are my loves, they would never hurt me.

But having sex in public is a criminal offense…

Yes, but the ban only applies to people, not cars.

So you never got into any trouble over sex with an ambulance?

Not because of sex, but I got into a fight over an ambulance once. I celebrated New Year's Eve with my friends and one lady from another party was injured by a lighted firecracker, so an ambulance had to come for her. Her partner did not agree with the hospitalization and he started beating and kicking the ambulance, which I didn't like, because it must have hurt her. So I started to defend her and fought with the dude.

How many models of ambulances do you own?

I currently have 38, but my collection is always expanding.

Aren't your friends and surroundings judging you for it?

Depends. Mainly I 'm judged by people on Facebook who don't get me and don't even try to understand me.

What are the biggest myths about objectophilia in your opinion?

That we are psychopaths and we have to be treated. Maybe also that the Mercedes ambulances are not alive and they are just metal sheets full of oil.

Don't you think there's a reason why you should get treated?

Not at all, I'm happy with my life.

Do you work? Or are you still studying?

I work for a transport company. I wanted to be a paramedic, but I get sick around blood.

Rescuers worry that I could lose it and pull on the steering wheel because of my mental problems, which of course I would never do, I would never hurt an ambulance.

What is your biggest life dream?

I have had a dream for 6 years that I would like to ride in a Mercedes ambulance, as a passenger, but no one wants to take me along. Rescuers worry that I could lose it and pull on the steering wheel because of my mental problems, which of course I would never do, I would never hurt an ambulance.
