British Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have started a war in Ukraine if he had been a woman. He said this on Tuesday evening after the summit of G7 leaders in Germany, informed the portal of the British station Sky News.

For the German ZDF station, Johnson called Russia's invasion of Ukraine "crazy" and "macho" and added: "If Putin was a woman, which he obviously isn't, but if he were, I really don't think he would've embarked on a crazy, macho war of invasion and violence in the way that he has. If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, it's what he's doing in Ukraine."

Johnson also said that more women should hold influential positions in each state. He stressed that the West must support Kiev's military strategy to help it change the dynamics of the conflict and put Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the best possible position in the negotiations, if they eventually occur.

"We really want to give Ukrainians strategic resilience and endurance," the British prime minister told ZDF after the summit of the world's seven most economically advanced nations - the G7.

French President Emmanuel Macron, meanwhile, condemned the rocket attack on a shopping center in the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk and called it a new war crime. He vowed that support for Kiev will not languish.
