Meta announced a collaboration with the fashion houses Balenciaga, Prada and Thom Browne. Brands will to dress the avatars in multiverse. According to Highsnobiety, the collaboration has been in the air for a long time, and the technology company started talking about it only a few days after it changed its name from Facebook to Meta, by writing on Twitter: "Hello, @Balenciaga, what dress code applies in the meta verse?"

Outfits from well-known brands will be available for sale for avatars in the Metaverse according to Mark Zuckerberg and Eva Chen next week, as part of the so-called Avatar Store. Announcing the news during a public video call, Chen presented the first designs directly on Mark Zuckerberg's avatar.

Speaking of the news on Instagram Live, Zuckerberg expressed doubts: "It is debatable whether I am cool enough for this outfit. I don't think I'm attractive enough."

Meta, who unveiled unique NFL jerseys in January, plans to introduce other fashion collaborations soon. If Metaverse users aren't willing to pay extra for exclusive pieces, they don't have to worry about their digital avatars remaining naked. As part of the virtual clothing store, they will also have the choice of free clothing.

Vice president of Instagram's fashion division Eva Chen expects, that there will be a lot of interest in designer fashion pieces in the meta version, as they will be much cheaper than the real ones. Their prices should range between $ 2.99 and $ 8.99. According to Engadget, Meta's fashion ambitions are an understandable part of the strategy to generate profit despite the gradual reduction of advertising.
