Billie Eilish opened up with David Letterman about her problems with Tourett syndrome which she was diagnosed with at the age of 11. The singer complained about irregular tics and people's insensitive reactions because they do not know she had Tourett syndrome.

Since many think she is kidding, laughter is a frequent reaction, says USA Today with reference to the interview of David Letterman's documentary series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. This kind of reaction always incredibly offends her. Apparently, she does not have problems with tics when performing on stage.

Billie Eilish claims she met many artists during her career who were diagnosed with Tourett syndrome but do not speak about it publicly. She did not specify any names so she would not violate anyone's privacy. She was surprised by the number of people around her experiencing similar health problems.

Tourettov syndróm is a neuro-psychiatric illness. Signs include motoric or vocal tics. It is a hereditary non-curable illness mostly found in men. It affects around 50 people in 100 000.
